The Denver Post reports that the Environmental Working Group recently released an analysis of federal documents and data, finding that Colorado has 501 sites where polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as “forever chemicals,” are released. EWG created an interactive map that displays locations that are either suspected or known for utilizing, producing or discharging PFAS. The EPA has proposed possible regulatory limits and formal designation of PFAS as hazardous. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment expressed gratitude towards the EWG’s analysis as it works to reduce exposure to Coloradans.
