Briefly: Cleave Simpson signals end to Rio Grande Water Conservation District role

The Alamosa Citizen reports that Cleave Simpson, general manager of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District, who also serves as a state senator representing the San Luis Valley, signed on Tuesday that his time working with the conservation district is coming to an end. Simpson’s duties with the senate have grown more demanding — he is now GOP minority leader — and says he has limited capacity to serve the conservation district.
