Briefly: Colorado River Indian Tribes seek personhood status for the river

KUNC reports that the Colorado River Indian Tribes, near Parker, Arizona, will seek personhood status for the Colorado River, to add legal muscle to the tribes’ ability to protect the waterway in court. Some communities in Colorado have sought this for their waterways as well, but it has been a difficult legal journey.
