Briefly: Federal funding pause includes 17 water projects on Western Slope

According to the Daily Sentinel, the Inflation Reduction Act originally provided funding to the Colorado River Basin to be used specifically for projects that provide environmental benefits and address issues caused by drought. Now the Trump administration has paused this funding leaving 17 major Upper Basin projects in western Colorado up in the air. These projects include dam removals, wetland restoration, drought resiliency, and tribal water projects.
