Briefly: Snowpack improves, but no drought relief in sight

The Daily Sentinel reports that snowpack levels have improved thanks to recent storms that are also benefitting ski areas. According to the Natural Resource Conservation Service, snowpack in the state was at 85 percent last week. That’s up from 74 percent just under a month ago. Snowpack levels have shown similar increases in the Upper Colorado River and Gunnison River drainages, which now sit at 82 percent and 79 percent of median. However, all of Colorado remains in drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
