Briefly: Utah farm steps up with major water donation for Great Salt Lake

The Deseret News reports that the Great Salt Lake will receive a major donation of water from a farm that was once a monastery. The gift bestows an additional 635 acre-feet of water on the drought-strapped water body. The farm’s owner says the water will be generated by converting some low-producing farmlands to dryland crops, freeing up the water for the donation.
