Deseret News reports that Utah’s Governor Spencer Cox declared Sunday, June 29, a Day of Prayer and Fasting for Rain. More than 90% of the state is now in moderate or severe drought, reports the Utah News Dispatch. Already this year, Utah has seen more than 52,000 acres burned in 438 fires. The governor contacted faith leaders across the state, encouraging them to share the invitation to pray with their congregations.
