The Boulder Daily Camera reported last week that Denver Water is dropping its opposition to having Boulder County conduct an extensive review of its Gross Reservoir expansion.
The utility, which serves some 1.4 million people in Colorado, received final federal approval for the expansion from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission last month.
The Gross Reservoir expansion has caused controversy in Boulder County, where environmental groups have claimed it will damage rivers and streams, and the county went to court to enforce its powers to review the project against Denver Water’s objections.
But late last week, Denver Water said it would cooperate with the county’s review, saying it needed to move the project forward. Read more here.
