In Colorado, we’ve been talking about drought all year, and don’t expect that to stop anytime soon. We saw the lowest snowpack statewide since 2002, the warmest spring in more than 100 years, fires by mid-summer, low stream flows and slew of drought impacts and mitigation efforts.

- Drought Water 101 Fact Sheet. The Colorado Foundation for Water Education has released a new fact sheet. Download the fact sheet from their website and use it on its own or distribute when giving talks or teaching a class about Colorado’s water and climate.
- Fall Seminar Series on Water and Drought by the Water Center at Colorado Mesa University. This series is open to the public, as well as students. Upcoming topics include Drought in Australia & Afghanistan; Political challenges of managing drought; and Managing reservoirs in response to drought; a headwaters community perspective; Drought & Climate Change; and more.
- Statewide Drought Conference with the Colorado Water Conservation Board. Through this conference, participants will discuss advances in drought monitoring, mitigation & impact assessment; drought preparedness innovations; the 2011 drought; managing risk; collaboration around drought and more.
